Here are some examples of legal matters handled by Julie Fershtman. Please keep in mind that every legal matter is different, and no lawyer can guarantee results.

Won a contentious and complex appeal in the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2025 involving real property rights of neighboring landowners, defeating claims seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars in alleged damages against the client.  

Won a product liability/negligence/UCC case for an agricultural industry client (feed mill), resulting in dismissal of all claims against it. Also won the appeal of the case at the Michigan Court of Appeals. Appellate issues focused on the trial court’s granting motion to strike opinions of opponent’s expert witnesses. 

In a highly contested dispute over ownership of valuable personal property, secured a temporary restraining order, preliminary injunction, and permanent injunction for client.  

Conducted an intensive internal review and investigation for a Fortune 300 company to evaluate threatened claims of employment discrimination.

Won bench trial of a land use/quiet title dispute (co-counsel).

Won dismissals of multiple, complex wrongful death cases against clients.

Successfully represented a business after a $5 million Default Judgment was entered against it, and successfully defended the business after the judgment was set aside, ultimately leading to an extremely favorable settlement where the client paid only $7,000.

Representing premises owners, won cases through trial court and appellate court levels. Won insurance coverage lawsuits in four states, including a jury trial on coverage issues.  

In the equine law component of practice, represented horse sellers and drafted documentation involving the 7-figure sale of a highly accomplished Arabian stallion/national champion.

In the equine law component of practice, represented buyers of a $500,000 elite show jumper and drafted purchase documentation to conclude the sale. Also represented parties on equine lease transactions for world champion show horses, breeding stallions, and top producing mares. Past counsel to Michigan thoroughbred racing organization. 

In the equine law component of practice, represented sellers of a $400,000 national champion stallion, successfully dismissed a lawsuit that the buyer filed against clients involving allegations of breach of warranty, breach of contract, and fraud. 

Won a nine-day bench trial of a contentious equine bailment, sale, and lease dispute. Also secured complete dismissal of defamation claims against the client.

Representing defrauded purchaser of a $300,000 investment, successfully litigated case against buyer’s agent to recover secret profits that the agent unlawfully added into the sale price. 

Representing a national agricultural insurance company, won an arbitration involving a crop insurance policy.
