In 2020, Julie won a product liability case for her client in the Michigan Court of Appeals involving complex issues of qualification of the opposing party’s expert witnesses; she also won the case at the trial court level. She has won heavily contested commercial and personal injury cases at trial and appellate court levels. 

Consistent Results. In one year, won jury trials in 3 states (Illinois, Ohio, and Michigan), 2 appeals, and a major Federal insurance coverage case in Illinois.

In an equine sales dispute, Julie represented buyers and filed a lawsuit on their behalf involving claims of sales fraudBreach of WarrantyConsumer Protection Act, and breach of contract. Julie also tried the case and won. The Court ordered the defendant sellers, who lost the case, to pay monetary losses and to reimburse 100% of the plaintiffs’ legal fees and costs.

Representing insurers, drafted numerous coverage opinions involving commercial general liability, environmental, property, livestock mortality, and specialty insurance coverages and endorsements. Also conducted examinations under oath across the country (in person and virtual) to assist in investigation of claims.

Secured summary judgment rulings for insurer clients in defense of complex first-party property insurance and livestock mortality insurance coverage cases in state and Federal courts in Illinois, Arizona, and Michigan. Also, assisted insurers in drafting or reviewing insurance policy endorsements, conditions, and exclusions.

Representing popular night club, won trial and secured dismissal of lawsuit against it and its security staff involving claims of serious personal injuries to patron.

Won summary judgment on behalf of transportation and delivery contractors who were sued for wrongful death after explosion at a delivery site, dismissing all claims against them.

Retained to defend an Illinois recreational business in a personal injury case, and co-tried the case before a jury in a week-long trial in Illinois. The jury issued a “no-cause” verdict for the client.

Retained shortly before trial to defend a Connecticut recreational business in a personal injury case and co-tried the case for several days before a jury in Connecticut, with favorable results.
